CREATIVE HUBS

A work in progress……. Often West Australian Visual Artist and creatives can feel isolated not just from the rest of Australia but also at the global level. The purpose of The Shipping Project ~ Perth Creative Hub is to change that so they don’t have to move to the eastern states or overseas to continue to practice after their studies have completed. We want to assist and activate those Creatives who wish to remain living in WA. To activate connection and network with other likeminded artist and creatives Glocally for opportunities both here in WA, Nationally and on the global stage via StudioZer0’s long term and ongoing relationship with international art organisations and affiliates.

The shipping containers will act as interactive studio creative hang space, a gathering and hangout space for all creatives from all artistic creative disciplines. Whether they are Visual Artist, Singer Song writers, Actors, Comedians and so forth. A place where emerging local artist and existing artist can test out their material and work with other creatives and the general public. 

StudioZer0 was founded in 2003 as a collective of West Australian artists who embody non-traditional modalities. We have participated symposiums and exhibitions within the institutional contexts of museums and galleries, but more significantly, we engage artists within public spaces on an GLOCAL level, outside of their studios, where they’ve immersed themselves in the deeper questions of art practice, ethics, and the environment (including sustainability).

Collectively we are working on the subjects of mutual influences and connections between a major cultural & art events and the geography of its realisation.

Residence programs, exhibitions, workshops, performances, creative projects etc via the creation of Creative Hubs, both in the physical and virtual space, continuing to be a creatives hang space for all Creatives.
